Mumbai: The melodious songs of “Delhi-6″ have already won the hearts of music lovers, but master composer A. R. Rehman is still busy working on its background music, less than two weeks before the scheduled release.

Rahman, whose schedules went haywire due to the commitments in Los Angeles for the Golden Globe award for his score in “Slumdog Millionnaire”, has apparently been working frantically in his Chennai studio. Mehra flew to Chennai Thursday night for portions of the background music. New Delhi, Feb 6:  Celebrated Italian guitarist Giuliano Modarelli left Delhiites spellbound with his unique fusion of classical jazz and Mediterranean sounds with traditional Indian music, which he presented at the East Meets West concert here Friday.

Modarelli, who has been studying Indian music for the last two years in Kolkata and southern India, collaborated with santoor maestro Sandip Chatterjee, mridangam player N. Shankar and tabla exponent Soumen Sarkar for the concert.

Melody Junction recently posted an article of Jagjit Singh where he questioned the Ghazal knowledge of AR Rahman. Now, Jagjit Singh seemed to be a bit upset as he felt it had been misunderstood by a section of die-hard AR Rahman fans. He referred to the reaction to his remark at the release of cricketer Kiran More’s wife, Raavi More’s ghazal album, Ishq Mein Aksar which has bhajan samrat Anup Jalota staging his ‘comeback’ in the realm of ghazals.
